Winkleman clear favourite to host Strictly Come Dancing

Claudia Winkleman is now the clear favourite to replace Sir Bruce Forsyth as Strictly Come Dancing co-host, according to the latest betting from bookmaker Coral.

Following a rush of bets, the bookies slashed the 42-year-old’s odds into 1-2 from 9-2 to join Tess Daly on the BBC ballroom show. Alan Titchmarsh is next best at 8-1, while early favourite Graham Norton has drifted out to 10-1 from 2-1 to land the role.

Despite Sir Bruce Forsyth’s absence from the show next season, Coral believe Strictly Come Dancing is here to stay, offering odds as big as 16-1 on it being axed.

“Claudia’s name was always linked with the role, but initially we thought that the BBC would opt for a male/female hosting partnership. However, the latest odds now suggest that Claudia is a shoo-in to succeed Sir Bruce,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
