Coral Scottish Open round 2 tips
The third instalment of the new Home Nations Series has produced plenty of top quality snooker already, with the Coral Scottish Open following up huge success at the English Open and Northern Ireland Open.
After the interesting opening match-ups, round 2 is ready to take full swing with a host of intriguing baize battles in Glasgow, including many of the world’s best potters.
This will include tournament favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan and home hope John Higgins, as they prepare for their latest outings at the Emirates Arena.
So ahead of the next matches, Coral outline Scottish Open round 2 tips and an awesome acca for punters to enjoy during proceedings.
Decider between O’Brien and Maguire
In what looks set to be a tasty Celtic clash between Irishman Fergal O’Brien and Scottish cueist Stephen Maguire, it’s the latter that boasts a dominant 6-0 head-to-head record.
Despite this, the Dubliner pushed Maguire close in a deciding frame defeat at the UK Championship recently and another decider between the pair can be backed to occur at 12/5.
Murphy to lead Guodong 3-1 after four frames
The Magician Shaun Murphy must overcome Chinese cueman Xiao Guodong in order to progress on Scottish soil and he will be confident of doing so after dispatching his next opponent’s compatriot Zhao Xintong in his opener.
Harlow’s 34-year-old break builder is 33/20 to secure a 3-1 lead over his round 2 foe after four frames played at the Emirates Arena.
O’Sullivan to sink Stefanow 4-1
Taking centre stage and hogging the headlines will likely be five-time Crucible king O’Sullivan once again, as he contests little known Polish youngster Adam Stefanow.
The Rocket looked in good form in his opener, but let some carelessness slip in to concede some unnecessarily dropped frames. Following his win over Matthew Selt, he is therefore a promising 2/1 to prevail 4-1 this time out.
Higgins to whitewash Donaldson
Rejuvenated snooker veteran Higgins has taken to the Scottish Open as the leading light on his home soil, and he will next contest Scott Donaldson in round 2.
The Wizard of Wishaw has been in great form and looks more than capable of downing his next opponent in front of a partisan crowd. Higgins is therefore 14/5 to whitewash Donaldson 4-0 here.
Turn £5 into £118 with sixfold acca
As well as our Scottish Open round 2 tips, we are also offering a potentially prosperous sixfold acca for punters to enjoy too, which involves the great Jimmy White and O’Sullivan.
Backing all six of these selections will see you turn a £5 stake into £118.95. So get on O’Brien (21/10*), Murphy (1/3*), O’Sullivan (1/33*), White (3/1*), Higgins (1/7*) and Liang Wenbo (2/9*).
