Five football dancers after Crouch moves

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has become renowned for his rhythmic celebrations in recent years as well as his goals in the Premier League, and the ex-England centre forward has pulled out some new shapes during his time off the pitch.

Towering Potters frontman Crouch famously celebrated his pre-2006 World Cup friendly hat-trick against Jamaica by pulling off ‘the robot’, swaying his elongated body in mechanical harmony. He later produced an equally entertaining ‘pull the rope’ routine during a 2010 World Cup qualifying win over Ukraine.

Though, most recently, Crouch was filmed enjoying his summer holidays in Ibiza by doing what he does best; tearing up the dancefloor. See for yourself below, as the top-flight attacker produces another cracking repertoire out of his locker.

Following Crouch’s latest routine, Coral bring you five other footballing dancers that have graced the pitch or sidelines with their own unique style of boogying. Enjoy…

Alan Pardew

Manchester United lifted their 12th FA Cup crown at Wembley recently, with Louis van Gaal helping the Red Devils end their 12-year wait for success in the competition before being harshly dismissed from Old Trafford, but Crystal Palace boss Pardew showed off his snake-hips following Jason Puncheon’s late strike.

The Eagles goal looked to be sending them towards cup glory, with Pardew bursting into some funky moves on the sidelines during celebrations, but his ecstasy was cut short when Juan Mata netted an equaliser as Man Utd went on to win in extra-time thanks to a Jesse Lingard screamer.

“I enjoyed that moment! In a Cup final and as a manager it’s difficult to enjoy moments,” Pardew admitted after his touchline shenanigans. “If you forgive me for my dance, it’s just because I enjoyed it.”

Roger Milla

Former Cameroon striker Milla set the 1990 World Cup alight with his goals and, of course, that famous corner flag wiggle.

The veteran forward struck four times during the tournament in Italy and marked every one of them with his trademark celebration which is still fondly remembered to this day.

Daniel Sturridge

A more recent set of moves next on our list, which come from Liverpool and England striker Sturridge, with the Anfield attacker having graced Switzerland with familiar arm-flailing repertoire in the 2016 Europa League final.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds were on course to lift the European crown after Sturridge had opened the scoring with a sensational strike in the first-half against Sevilla, followed by that usual celebration, but they ultimately suffered a 3-1 defeat at St Jakob-Park.

Bolo Zenden

Back in 2010, former Chelsea and Sunderland midfielder Zenden became an online sensation following his hilarious goal celebration against Chelsea, when he joined in with successful scorer Asamoah Gyan for what can only be described a poorly-executed ‘funky chicken’.

The Dutchman blamed his awkward manoeuvre on the fact he was joining in with an unfamiliar style and claimed he did in fact have rhythm, stating: “I’ve actually got a lot of different moves but I had to join in in the African style so that’s why it looks a bit funny. I’ve got a few things in my locker.”

Paul Pogba

At just 23 years of age, Juventus and France midfield maestro Pogba has the footballing world at his feet, but he’ll have to stay on them first to continue his short but sweet career.

The Manchester United academy product recently helped the Old Lady to their fifth straight Serie A title and got a little carried away during the dressing room celebrations, as the young Frenchman ended up on his backside when attempting to join in with his teammates’ dancing.

Pogba will hope to be celebrating further silverware success with Les Bleus this summer on home soil, where Didier Deschamps’ France outfit are the 11/4 favourites with Coral to reign supreme in their own backyard.
