Aintree Thursday trends – bottom weight Kie leaps out in the 4:15

Away from the day’s feature races there are a whole host of other contests with winning Aintree bets to be made. Here we take a look at some key trends that should help you narrow down the search:

2:00 Matalan Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle

Grumeti is the only British-bred victor in the last 16 years.

Eight of the last 10 winners had taken in between four and eight hurdles runs.

Since the race became a Grade 1 all eight winners had either won or been placed in the Triumph Hurdle.

The last nine winners had notched a win in that season.

Eight of the last 10 winners carried between 10st10lb and 11st 1lb

Four of the last eight winners were successful last time out.
