Rival D’Estruval Heads Betting For Coral Scottish Grand National

| 18.04.2013
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Rival D’Estruval is the 6-1 favourite with the sponsor for Saturday’s Coral Scottish Grand National, following the final declarations for the Ayr showpiece.  Big Occasion is a well-backed 7-1 (from 12-1) second favourite, while the Aintree Grand National hero, Auroras Encore, is eased to 16-1 (from 12-1).

“Rival D’Estruval has headed the market since we opened betting, and looks certain to start favourite on Saturday, although Big Occasion, who proved his stamina when winning the Midlands National on heavy ground, has been well-backed in recent days,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“By contrast, the Aintree hero, Auroras Encore and Ryan Mania have been easy to back, with punters at this stage not expecting the pair to emulate the great Red Rum by completing a famous National double, although his presence in Scotland’s greatest race can only help boost the profile of what is always one of the biggest betting heats of the year,” added Stevens.
