Moyes slashed to 1/5 favourite for biggest job in football

| 08.05.2013
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

In the last hour David Moyes has emerged as the red-hot favourite to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson in the Manchester United managerial hotseat, with Coral slashing his odds to 1/5 from 7/4 with bets pouring in for the current Everton manager.

An initial plunge on Jose Mourinho to takeover from Sir Alex, which briefly made the Portugese favourite in Coral’s market, proved short-lived and all the money in the last hour has been for Moyes.

“Nine out of every ten bets we are taking are being placed on Moyes but we can’t be sure if this is a public reaction to the wall-to-wall media coverage which has put Moyes as a clear front runner or more informed money based on insider knowledge”, said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“These next manager markets can take on a rollercoaster-style life of their own, but if money talks than David Moyes is about to be given the biggest job in football”, added Clare.
