Enrol for more Stoute success in Buckingham Palace Stakes

| 20.06.2013

Bookmakers were left reeling by the victory of Her Majesty The Queen’s Estimate on Thursday and the Stoute/Moore combination can strike again with Enrol on Friday.

The four-year-old daughter of Pivotal had been considered for the six furlong Wokingham Stakes but the stable rely on Epsom winner Duke Of Firenze for that race. Enrol advertised her claims when failing by a whisker to catch leading Wokingham fancy Nocturn at Newmarket last time out.

Duke Of Firenze has fared poorly having been drawn 31 on Saturday but there are no such concerns over the draw for Enrol who has the number one stall. She has come late in all of her recent starts and Ryan Moore will be looking to strike late on the far side.

Low numbers established a clear advantage in Wednesday’s races and jockeys were intent on taking their horses away from the stands rail on Thursday. If that trend continues, it will pay to be drawn low to middle on Friday.

Emilio Largo (drawn 8) is another interesting contender having been aimed at this race in preference to either the Wokingham or the Royal Hunt Cup. He went into many a notebook after finishing a close fourth over six furlongs here last month.

Bertiewhittle (drawn 10) will have plenty of supporters after finishing second to Excellent Guest in the hotly-contested Victoria Cup over course and distance. Highland Colori (drawn 2) also showed a liking for this specialist distance when winning convincingly at Newmarket last time.

Anderiego (drawn 19) ran well in third behind Navajo Chief at York and may be the pick of five David O’Meara runners. Dream Tune (drawn 30) has definite claims on his run behind Bertiewhittle in the Victoria Cup as he had to be switched to join the main group from a bad draw. Unfortunately he may again struggle to get involved with another high draw here.
