Bookies slash odds on wettest winter ever
With snow and rain predicted for winter, the firm is quoting 10-1 that the record low temperature of -27.2° is broken, 100-1 that it rains every day until Christmas and 500-1 that the Thames freezes over.
Coral has also opened up the betting on a White Christmas, and it is 7-1 that it snows on Christmas day in London, Liverpool and Manchester.
“Punters are gearing up for plunging temperatures, following grim weather predictions for the coming months and we have slashed the odds on Britain suffering the worst winter in history”, commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
