Coral open betting on Sportswoman of the Year

Leading bookmaker Coral has opened betting on The Sunday Times and Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Year 2013 and make gold medal-winning cyclist Becky James the 7-4 favourite to scoop the main award. Christine Ohuruogu is the 5-2 second favourite, while Heather Knight and Non Stanford are next best at 5-1 and 6-1 respectively.

Becky James is also the odds-on favourite to scoop the Young Sportswoman of the Year award at 4-5, ahead of Katarina Johnson-Thompson at 5-2.Paralympic champion Hannah Cockroft is the 1-3 favourite to win the Disability Sportswoman of the Year award, while Europe’s Solheim Cup team are 5-4 to be awarded Team of the Year.

“There’s a long list of inspirational female figures in the betting for the Sportswoman of the Year awards but Becky James’ outstanding form as the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Minsk has catapulted her to the head of the betting,” commented Coral Spokeswoman Nicola McGeady.
