Manchester United biggest price ever for next Premier League season

| 20.01.2014

Leading bookmaker Coral today issued prices on next season’s Premier League 2014/2015 title race and have Manchester United
as the 6/1 fourth favourites, the biggest price ever offered on the club before the start of a Premier League season.

Coral make Manchester City the 11/8 favourites, with Chelsea 13/5 and Arsenal 5/1.

“For twenty two Premier League seasons Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson have nearly always started as either first or second favourite, but always at a shorter price than 6/1. This season’s title bid appears well and truly over and the fact that we make Manchester United just fourth favourite for next season’s Premier League demonstrates the size of the challenge now facing David Moyes and the Club’s owners,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“In pricing up next season’s title odds we have had to consider which teams will make the most progress over the summer. Manchester City and Chelsea seem likely to go from strength to strength with new managers bedded in and with funds behind them, but Manchester United’s squad appears in need of serious overhaul and if they don’t achieve Champions League football next term will they have the funds and attract the players necessary to mount a title challenge?”, questioned Clare.
