Argentina shorten for trophy after Swiss roll over in extra time

| 01.07.2014

Argentina are into 10-3 (from 7-2) to win the World Cup after they advanced into the quarter-finals of the tournament following a 1v0 victory over Switzerland at the end of extra-time.

The result proved to be a good one for the bookmakers as it was goalless at the end of 90 minutes, however, it ensured that seven out of seven favourites have qualified from their last 16 matches.

“We were obviously delighted with the way the 90 minute unfolded, however, it’s another one of the big guns through to the next round. Despite being unconvincing today, Argentina have been clipped slightly because they are now just three wins from lifting the trophy,” said Coral’s John Hill.

**World Cup outright

3 Brazil, 10-3 Argentina, 4 Germany, 9-2 Netherlands, 8 France, 11 Colombia, 22 Belgium, 40 Costa Rica, 80 USA.
