The Fugue 4/1 to Eclipse her rivals

| 04.07.2014
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

The Fugue goes into Saturday’s Coral-Eclipse at Sandown (3.30) as the red-hot favourite, but the sponsors are offering an enhanced price of 4/1 about her landing the spoils in the Group 1 contest over 1m 2f .
The price is available to all customers on bets placed via the internet and phone (up to a maximum stake of £10) from 08:15 on Saturday.

It’s a cracking offer which is sure to prove popular, and it’s a case of first come, first served and grab it while it lasts.

The John Gosden trained five-year-old put in a scintillating performance when beating Magician and Treve in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot and is undoubtedly one of the best mares in training.

She is now rated 123, 3lb and upwards clear of her potential rivals, and is bidding to make amends for a poor run in the contest 12 months ago when finishing last of seven to Al Kazeem.

The daughter of Dansili went on to show that running was all wrong when beating Al Kazeem with authority in the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown, and also ran a cracker to finish a 1/2 length runner-up to Magician in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Santa Anita where she arguably hit the front too soon.

The Fugue then didn’t get the best of rides when finishing a close second to Dominant in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase, but that is top class form which sets a high standard for her rivals to aim at.

If turning up in the same form as Royal Ascot then The Fugue is going to be extremely difficult to beat, and come around 4pm Saturday the 4/1 offered by Coral could look a steal.
