Cardiff, Fulham, Blackburn a fantastic 5/1 Championship treble

| 16.08.2014

There’s money to be made on the Championship with Coral offering customers an enhanced 5/1 price on wins for Cardiff City, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers.

Each of these three teams, who are all odds-on for victory and expected to be in the mix for Premier League promotion, boast prolific strikers on their books. The Bluebirds battle managerless Huddersfield Town, while Fulham host London rivals Millwall and Rovers have a Lancashire derby away at relegation favourites Blackpool.

Here’s why you should bet now on this tasty treble.

Cardiff v Huddersfield
The Welsh capital club have won each of their last three home meetings with the Terriers. Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows his side are therefore odds-on 4/6 favourites to beat Town again. In Adam le Fondre he has a proven striker at Championship level, and someone who’s scored against Huddersfield before. Odds of 4/1 say he’ll net the opener.

Fulham v Millwall
When these London rivals were last in the same division, Fulham did the double over the Lions. Felix Magath’s man are odds-on 19/20 favourites to beat Millwall again here. In record signing Ross McCormack they have last season’s Championship top scorer, who has netted twice in six outings against this opposition. He is 10/3 to round things off by grabbing the last goal.

Blackpool v Blackburn
Rovers have lost once in this fixture since 1979, and are therefore odds-on 3/4 favourites for three points. Jordan Rhodes, who has netted twice during the last three occasions he has faced Blackpool, will carry Blackburn’s goal threat against a hastily assembled side at Bloomfield Road.

It’s 3/1 Scotland striker Rhodes scores first but, for punters who like a subplot, why not back former Seasiders defender Alex Baptsite to net against his old club? He carries a considerable set piece threat, and odds of 8/1 are attractive, given how little time Blackpool boss Jose Riga will have had to work on getting so many new faces to defend corners and free kicks.
