Haydock Preview: Bop It ready to cut a dash

| 07.08.2014
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Bop It has a good record at Haydock and can take advantage of a drop in the weights to land the 6f contest on this afternoon’s seven-race card (4.10).

The David O’Meara trained gelding has won two of his four starts at the Merseyside venue, and finished in the frame on the other two occasions.

The last of those successes came off a mark of 81 over today’s trip of 6f, where Bop It shot clear a furlong from home to win easily by 1 1/2 lengths from Corporal Maddox.

The five-year-old gets into this contest off 1lb lower, and that gives the son of Misu Bond major claims from a handicapping perspective.

Bop it also shaped as if coming back to form last time out when a keeping on not knocked about fifth at Catterick, and with underfoot conditions ideal this looks a glorious opportunity for him to get back on thre winning trail.

Injaz caught the eye last time out and looks decent value to notch his first career success in the 6f handicap (3.40).

The Kevin Ryan trained gelding was beaten just 2 1/4 lengths when finishing fifth of 13 to Sartori at Ripon last month, in a race in which everything went wrong.

The son of Compton Place blew the starts compeletely, and was then denied a clear passage when making good headway inside the last and looking sure to play a hand in the finish.

Injaz finished with plenty of running left in him, and it was an effort which suggested the three-year-old should be more than capable of winning a race of this nature off a mark of 61.
In the 1m 6f contest that closes proceedings (5.10), O Ma Lad looks weighted to to take all the beating.

The John Quinn gelding was in good form last spring, winning at Catterick off a mark of 83 before following up in a class 3 contest at Hamilton off 87.

The six-year-old now races of just 80, 7lb lower than when last successful, and that makes O Ma Lad look dangerously well-treated in what looks a winnable class 4 contest.
