Castleford face fierce rivals Wakefield in West Yorkshire derby

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

The best of the rest fight it out in Super League’s round 26, following Wigan’s 21-6 win over fellow play-off rivals Leeds Rhinos.

Bradford host Widnes, who are battling it out for a place in the end of season play-offs themselves, with the Vikings odds-on at 1/2 to secure a victory. Both teams have won three out of their last five fixtures, and the Bulls are 13/8 to record a win. Rhys Hanbury is 8/1 to score the first try for Widnes, while Bradford’s best hope could be Brett Kearney at 10/1.

Elsewhere, Castleford take on Wakefield, in what is usually a highly fueled local derby. The Tigers have been in fine form all season, despite losing to the Rhinos in the Challenge Cup final. Having bounced back in style with a win over Bradford last time out, the home side are odds-on at 1/6 to win the clash, with their opponents priced at 4/1. The Tigers have threats from all over the field and teams will want to avoid them in the play-offs. Daryl Clark is fantastic value at 10/1 to cross for the first try of the game.

Huddersfield, odds-on at 1/5 to beat Hull FC (who are 7/2), could be in joint third at worst if they manage to claim bragging rights over the Humberside club. The Giants are arguably the form club in the Super League right now, having not lost in five matches, and are well backed to keep that run going against Hull. Jermaine McGillvary has odds of 7/1 to score the first try of the game for the West Yorkshire outfit, and add to his tally of 19.

Hull KR, meanwhile, could stifle Catalans play-off hopes, and are 6/5 to produce a shock at Craven Park. Despite the Dragons being odds-on at 4/6 to record a win, prolific stand-off Leon Pryce is set to be left out of the squad, while the Robins are set to hand debuts to Sonny Esslemont and Macauley Hallett.

Concluding round 26 is Salford and London, who are firmly embedded in the bottom three. The Red Devils are odds-on at 1/150 to pile more misery on the Broncos, who have won just once so far this season, albeit against a second string Leeds Rhinos team. As such, London are massive 20/1 outsiders to secure a shock win.
