Patriots Slim Road Favorites over Bills in AFC East Showdown

| 12.10.2014

New England Patriots travel to Buffalo where they take on the Bills in a battle for top spot in the NFL AFC East division. Coming off a 43-17 statement victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5, the Patriots are pegged as 2.5-point favourites over Buffalo with Coral.

The 3-2 Bills are also coming off a big win, squeaking by Detroit, 17-14, on the strength of a 58-yard field goal in the dying seconds to earn their second SU win as road underdogs this season.

But Buffalo will have their hands full against the Patriots, who have dominated the Bills with Tom Brady at the helm, posting SU wins on nine of their last 10 visits to Ralph Wilson Stadium, 7-2-1 ATS.

Cincinnati Bengals (3-1), who stood as the NFL’s last undefeated team this season prior to their Week 5 loss to New England, take on the NFC South leaders Carolina Panthers in a battle of inter-conference division front runners.

The Bengals, who are top of AFC North, head into this week’s action undefeated in their last 11 regular season home games, SU and ATS, and have not lost to the 3-2 Panthers since 2002.

However, as was the case last week against the Patriots, Cincinnati face a dynamic quarterback in Carolina’s Cam Newton, who orchestrated the Panthers’ 31-24 comeback victory last weekend over Chicago, while a stout Carolina defense contributed by forcing four Bear turnovers.

A resurgent New York Giants travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in the first meeting of the year between the NFC East rivals. The 4-1 Eagles, who sit atop the division alongside the Dallas Cowboys, enter the weekend pegged as 2.5-point favorites at Coral.

Philadelphia have been a solid bet since the midpoint of last season, going 11-3 SU and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14, and are a rock solid 7-1 SU, 5-2-1 ATS, in their last eight at Lincoln Financial Field.

However, the Eagles have struggled at times when the Giants have come to town, winning just one of their last three, SU and ATS, while going 4-6, SU and ATS, in their last 10 home dates against the G-Men.

The 3-2 Giants have gotten back on track after a rough start, winning their last three, SU and ATS. But those wins came against inferior opposition, which should temper Giants fans expectations heading into Sunday night’s match-up.

In other NFL online betting action at Coral, the 2-2 Miami Dolphins return to action after a bye last week, taking on the Green Bay Packers as 3-point home underdogs.

San Diego Chargers will be gunning for their fifth straight win SU, and sixth straight ATS, when they face the hapless Oakland Raiders as 7-point road favorites, while the Cowboys will try to make it five in a row when they visit the 3-1 Seattle Seahawks as 8-point road underdogs.
