Browns heavy favourites over Bucs in Week 9 NFL betting at Coral

| 02.11.2014

Cleveland Browns will look to stay in contention in the tight AFC North when they welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to town on Sunday, as 6.5-point home favourites in NFL betting at Coral.

The 4-3 Browns currently sit in last place in the AFC North, but trail Cincinnati, Baltimore and Pittsburgh by just half a game in the NFL’s closest divisional race. Cleveland are coming off a solid 23-13 win over the Oakland Raiders as 6.5-point favourites last Sunday, improving their home record to 3-1 SU and ATS.

They face a Bucs squad that has endured some hard luck in their search for wins. Tampa Bay are a meagre 1-7 on the season, with four of those defeats coming by six points or less, including last weekend’s shocking 19-13 walk-off loss to Minnesota, resulting from an overtime fumble returned by the Vikes for a TD.

That loss dropped T-Bay to 2-5 ATS, and was their third outright defeat this year when pegged as home favourites.

The Bengals will look to maintain their slim lead in the AFC North when they welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars to Paul Brown Stadium as heavy 11-point home favourites in American Football betting at Coral.

Cincy rebounded last weekend from a three-game winless stretch, topping Baltimore 27-24 as 2.5-point home underdogs. The victory was their second SU over the Ravens this season, both when pegged as underdogs.

The 1-7 Jags continue to suffer yet another lost season. After shocking Cleveland two weeks ago with a 24-6 home victory, Jacksonville were once again spanked in their own building last weekend, topped 27-13 by Miami while pegged as seven-point home dogs. The loss was their 10th SU in their last 11 overall, 2-8-1 ATS.

Steelers and Ravens square off on Sunday night in Week 9’s other AFC North matchup, with Baltimore sitting as razor-thin 1.5-point road favourites in NFL betting at Coral.

While the Ravens will be looking for an answer following their loss to Cincy, the Steelers will hit the gridiron at Heinz Field riding high following their lopsided 51-34 victory over Indianapolis Colts last weekend. Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger led the way, throwing for a franchise record 522 yards and six TDs, as Pittsburgh won their third game in their last four outings, SU and ATS.

In other Week 9 NFL betting action at Coral, the 4-3 Kansas Chiefs will be gunning for their third straight victory when they take on reeling New York Jets as heavy 10-point favourites. QB Michael Vick will be at the helm for the 1-7 Jets, who have suffered embarrassing defeats in three of their last four outings.

San Diego Chargers will try to end a two-game SU losing streak, 0-3 ATS in their last three, when they travel to Miami to face the Dolphins as 2.5-point underdogs. The 5-2 Philadelphia Eagles will look to keep pace with Dallas in the race for top spot in the NFC East when they visit the Houston Texans as two-point favourites. The Peyton Manning-Tom Brady rivalry, meanwhile, will be rekindled on Sunday when the Denver Broncos visit New England as three-point favourites over the Patriots.
