NFL: Back Chiefs, Falcons and Steelers in terrific TV treble

| 28.12.2014

It’s the final week of the NFL regular season, but Coral still give great offers to their customers.

Here we tell you why you should back individual odds-on favourites Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers all to win at an enhanced 4/1 price.

San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City can keep alive their playoff hopes by defeating division rivals San Diego.

The Chiefs have the psychological edge over their opponents, as they head into this encounter having triumphed when the two teams met earlier in the season (October 19th).

Kansas City will likely use that performance as a blueprint for Sunday’s game, and use a run-heavy offense. This would allow them to exploit a key weakness of San Diego, as the Chargers rushing defense is ranked as the sixth-worst in the league in 2014.

A run-heavy offense should also ensure plenty of touches for Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, who leads the team with nine touchdowns this season, and he is 9/2 to go over first.

Meanwhile, the Chargers offense will be missing star running back Ryan Matthews who is out with an ankle injury. San Diego side may be forced to turn to the passing game on Sunday as a result – and the bad news for them, is that they are facing the NFL’s second-best pass defense in the Chiefs.

Victory for Kansas City here will leave Chiefs fans around Arrowhead Stadium biting their nails, as they wait to hear the all-important results from Baltimore and Houston. Defeats for the Ravens and Texans would send the Chiefs to the playoffs for a second consecutive year.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta can seize the NFC South crown in a winner-takes-all contest at the Georgia Dome.

A Falcons triumph would see them sweep their division rivals to finish 6-0 against NFC South opponents in 2014, and secure a home playoff game in the postseason.

The team is on a high after pulling out an excellent away win against New Orleans last time out (30-14), giving them the opportunity to seize the division title in front of their own fans.

Atlanta will be confident of putting points on the board in this contest, as they have the fifth-best passing offense in the league, headlined by star wide receiver Julio Jones.

He is ranked second in the league with 1,535 receiving yards and has registered a touchdown in three of his last four appearances. Jones can be backed at 11/2 to grab the first score here.

Carolina, meanwhile, have lost on five of their last six visits to Atlanta, and the Falcons’ potent passing attack can provide yet more misery for the travelling Panthers in Georgia.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers can grab the AFC North title by beating the Bengals at Heinz Field on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh (10-5) appear to be coming into their best form of the season at just the right time – they have now won three games on the bounce, and have won seven out of nine since Week 8.

And in quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, running back Le’Veon Bell, and wide receiver Antonio Brown, the Steelers possess one of the very best trios of skill position players on offense in the NFL. The Pittsburgh offense is ranked seventh overall, and is second-best in the league in passing offense.

Bell was in excellent form when these two sides clashed in Week 14, scoring three touchdowns as the Steelers thrashed the Bengals 42-21. He could be in for another big day against Cincinnati – he faces off against a Bengals defense ranked just 23rd in the league for rushing defense. Bell is 5/1 to score first here.

Cincinnati have a poor record in nationally-televised games since Andy Dalton became their starting quarterback in 2011, and they were notably thrashed in two blowout losses against New England and Cleveland earlier this season.

With a potent offense that can blow away the opposition, the Steelers will be itching to beat their rivals, and could hand the Bengals their third primetime thrashing of the season in this encounter.
