Is Clare a heavenly bet to present Songs Of Praise?
Top TV sports presenter Clare Balding has announced that she is cutting back on her duties for Channel 4 Racing in 2015, and Coral are offering a number of specials about her heading up some leading shows away from the world of sport.
When it comes to presenting on sport, the 43-year-old has “been there, done that, and got the T-Shirt”.
The daughter of former top Derby winning trainer Ian Balding has worked on numerous high profile programmes, including the Olympic and Commonwealth games, and also presented the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year awards.
She had become well-known as the face of Channel 4 Racing on big days like the Grand National and the Derby, and combined her TV appearances with a busy radio schedule.
The question now is whether Balding will be tempted to take up a new challenge in 2015 in a glittering broadcasting career which has seen her awarded the OBE, and Coral make her 12/1 to present an episode Songs Of Praise anytime this year.
Those odds look a bit tempting to me as Balding took over from Aled Jones as the presenter of BBC Radio 2’s religious/spiritual programme Good Morning Sunday and appearing back before the cameras to talk about such a subject would clearly hold no fears.
Coral also make her a 33/1 chance to present an episode of The Antiques Road Show for the BBC, and 66/1 to grace our screens to present and episode of the much-loved Strictly Come Dancing.
And for those that believe Balding has the drive and ambition to do anything, Coral go 66/1 about her stepping into the shoes of Jeremy Clarkson to present at episode of Top Gear.
