CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Welcome back to Game of the Day, where today we feature a timeless casino classic, the lifeblood of casinos for almost as long as they have existed – it is of course European Roulette. Today, European Roulette is the chosen game for our Sunday Stake Race; where the top 500 stakers claim a share of £5,000 bonus pool.

Roulette, as we know it today, can trace its roots back to late 18th Century Paris, where it was described as having been a sensation at the Palais-Royal. As gambling was outlawed through much of Europe in the 19th Century brothers Francois and Louis Blanc retreated to manage the only remaining legal establishment, in Monte Carlo.

Their new, single 0 version of Roulette became so iconic it was said that Francois had sold his soul to Satan for the secret; a tale aided by the fact that the numbers around a Roulette wheel add to a total of 666.

Since then the game of Roulette has spread across the world; from riverboat casinos and saloons in the USA to the latest mega casinos in Macau. Part of the reason for its enduring popularity is surely the sheer number of ways to play. Whether you’re a conservative gambler looking for small, regular wins or enjoy chasing long shots for big jackpots, Roulette has a bet to suit you.

What’s more all bets in Roulette have the same, low, house edge of 2.7% but has dozens of betting options at odds from evens (1:1) for simple 18 number bets to 35:1 and 17:1 for straight up and split bets respectively. Of course, half the fun of Roulette is designing your own bets and strategies, choosing exactly how much of the board to cover and backing your lucky numbers!

European Roulette is available to play in our Games Tab, mobile app and desktop client and bear in mind playing on Sunday allows you to claim your share of £5,000 with our weekly Stake Race!

As well as the main betting sports, football, tennis and cricket, he covers the likes of golf, F1 and darts too, the latter of which has become a particular favourite. Sam enjoys playing as much as writing about sports, but niggling injuries have limited his participation in recent years, so is happy to mainly watch the pros such as Manchester United, Yorkshire CCC, Raymond van Barneveld and even Gibraltar national football team instead.
