McIlroy heads betting in his opening start of 2015

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Rory McIlroy starts as the 7-2 favourite with bookmaker Coral to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this week in his opening start of 2015. Justin Rose is second best in the outright betting at 9-1, while Henrik Stenson is available at 10-1 with the firm.

Following a number of bets on the former three-time winner, Coral has cut the odds on Martin Kaymer scoring once again at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club from 16-1 into 14-1, while they can also report each-way money for Thorbjorn Olesen who is now 35-1 (from 40-1).

“Any field which features Rory McIlroy always attracts more money into an outright book so we are pleased to see the World Number One in action. The support behind McIlroy has been solid but punters have not been rushing in to back the three-time major winner, maybe due to it being his opening start of the year. Instead, they are turning to Martin Kaymer who has excellent form at this golf course,” said Coral’s John Hill.
