Scotland’s top-flight leaders Celtic will face domestic rivals Dundee United in a Scottish FA Cup quarter-final encounter, with the sides also set to clash in next week’s League Cup final at Hampden Park.

Ronny Deila’s dominant domestic outfit, odds-on 8/11 to lift the Scottish FA Cup trophy, are in a superior run of form to their opponents, having climbed to the summit of this season’s Premiership table, 11 points ahead of Dundee.

However, the hosts will be quietly confident of overcoming the in-form Hoops, after securing a narrow 2-1 triumph in a league meeting last December, and are 5/1 to cause another upset at Tannadice.

Since that previous league loss last year, Deila’s Bhoys have been in sensational form, recently securing eight consecutive triumphs, while racking up an incredible 22 in those wins.

Although, the Glasgow giants will come into this cup meeting on the back of a disappointing 1-0 midweek defeat to St Johnstone, with Danny Swanson’s second-half effort stunning Celtic ahead of the continuation of their cup campaign.

Scottish attacker Stuart Armstrong is cup-tied, and thus unavailable to face his former employers, after sealing a January switch to Celtic Park, having started United’s 2-1 cup coup over Motherwell last November.

Clinical forward Leigh Griffiths slotted home a consolation goal for Celtic in his side’s previous Terrors defeat, and is 4/1 to net two or more this time out, after bagging five strikes in his previous eight outings in all competitions.

Jackie McNamara will be relying on star striker Nadir Ciftci as their primary attacking threat, with the 23-year-old having struck 11 times so far this term. The delightful Turkish frontman is 8/1 to open proceedings at Celtic Park, after doing so in the previous encounter.

With a place in the semi-finals at stake, and a League Cup final meeting only a week away, both teams will be aiming to gain some crucial momentum. Although, that could be a difficult task for the hosts, as they have endured an extremely poor recent run of form, and are without a win in four matches.

Celtic have been toppled only once in their last 11 encounters with their fourth-placed opponents Dundee, and are available at 8/5 to secure a triumph to nil in what will be the first game in a cup double-header within seven days.
