Coral Champions Club hoping for a Chic result

| 24.03.2015

Bon Chic, who is owned by the Coral Champions Club, runs in the 4.20 at Southwell today and connections are hopeful of a big run from the mare who will be cheered on by five members chosen to be owners for the day.

The six-year-old had some smart bumper form when trained in Ireland, winning on her final start at Punchestown before being purchased by the club and sent to Dan Skelton.

Bon Chic got turned over at odds-on on debut for the Lodge Hill handler when third to Haatefina at Fakenham, but made a mistake at the last and only got beat 1 1/2 lengths.

It was a highly promising first run over the obstacles of soft ground which didn’t suit, and Skelton believes today’s quicker going is going to be a major plus.

He said: “She’s in good form. She’s jumped and worked well and I have no reason to believe she won’t run her race. The better ground will certainly help. It’s in her favour today which I think will make a huge difference.”

Bon Chic is one of two National Hunt horses owned by the Coral Champions Club, which is completely free to join and since being formed in 2012 and has provided its members with exceptional days out at the races.

Every time the club has a runner, five lucky members are selected from a ballot to be the owners for the day. They get to come to the races with a guest, meet the jockey and trainer in the paddock and share in any prize money that the horse wins.

But being an owner for a day is not all that the Coral Champions Club has to offer.

Club members enjoy many other benefits including free bets, price enhancements, weekly previews and video updates which allow them to follow the Champions Club horses’ progress.

There are also weekly emails from Coral’s Head of Horseracing, James Knight, with his weekend picks and bets to avoid, competitions, and special offers exclusively for those involved.
