In-form Barca attack to topple Real Madrid in El Clasico

| 22.03.2015

Barcelona have won just three of their last eight matches against bitter El Clasico rivals Real Madrid in all competitions at home, losing as many, so a draw at the Nou Camp is an enticing 3/1 price with Coral.

However, Barca have been in terrific form of late, after a slow start to the season, and have leapfrogged Los Blancos into first place by a point. A fourth victory in a row in La Liga, which is priced odds-on at 4/6, will give them a good lead going into the final 10 matches of the campaign.

Real (10/3 chances), meanwhile, have just one win in their previous three in the league, but can take confidence after their recent 2-0 triumph over Levante, in which Gareth Bale bagged a brace, to end his Spanish top-flight goal drought of seven games.

Welsh wing wizard Bale already has a famous strike to his name against the Catalan club, as he got the winner in the Copa del Rey final last season, and he is a tempting 11/4 chance to net against them once more.

Cristiano Ronaldo is going through his only mini drop in form, for his standards, but has 41 goals in all competitions this term, and can be backed at a highly enticing 7/4 price to be on target anytime, and 9/1 for two or better.

But Ronaldo’s dip has coincided with his arch nemesis Lionel Messi’s rise back to his best. The majestic Argentine was simply out of this world in the recent Champions League last 16 second leg against Manchester City.

On top of that, Messi has a ridiculous 25 goals in his last 16 La Liga games, getting eight assists along the way too, and is odds-on at 4/5 to net anytime to add to his 21 El Clasico total, and 7/2 for two or more.

Speaking ahead of the crunch clash, the Argentine said: “We are playing well but we cannot get carried away because there is a long way to go.

“We have some big games, first against Madrid and then there are the quarter-finals [of the Champions League against PSG] where we will face another tough team.

“I have a lot of respect for Madrid. When Madrid are in this situation it is when they are most dangerous.

“They have great players. We will go out to play our football and look to win but at the same time we need to be wary of them as much as ever.”

Up front, Barcelona have perhaps three of the best four forwards in world football right now, in Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. The latter duo are respective 6/5 and 5/4 shouts to score anytime.

Luis Enrique (whose side are odds-on 4/7 favourites to win La Liga this season) may also be able to call upon Sergio Busquets, who is back in training following injury.

Carlo Ancelotti has been under a lot of pressure in recent matches, but his team are 11/8 chances to claim the Spanish top flight title this term.
