Vibrato Valtat proving popular with each-way punters in Arkle

| 09.03.2015

On the eve of the 2015 Cheltenham Festival, Vibrato Valtat has been well backed with Coral in the Arkle Tropy Chase where he is 11-2 to overcome the short price favourite Un De Sceaux in the 2m chase contest for novices.

In the Coral Cup on Wednesday, the sponsor has cut Marinero into 16-1 from 25-1 after sustained support for the Tony Martin-trained Irish runner.

Meanwhile, in the blue riband event of the week, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Holywell has been popular to provide Jonjo O’Neill his second winner in the race as a trainer and is now the joint-second favourite at 8-1 (from 10-1).

“Although we are fearing the four short price favourites in the Grade One races tomorrow, some punters have been looking for each-way alternatives and Vibrato Valtat is the horse which has been popular this morning with each-way punters who are taking on the odds-on favoureite,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Elsewhere this week, it looks like there is a big gamble emerging on Marinero in the Coral Cup, while support for Holywell is building in the Cheltneham Gold Cup,” added Hill.
