Winning Wembley encounter expected for England in Euro 2016 hunt

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

England will be expected to take a huge step towards qualification for Euro 2016 next summer, with a vital victory over Lithuania at Wembley.

The Three Lions, 6/5 with Coral to win both halves, are sitting comfortably at the summit of Group E, six points clear of closest challengers Slovenia, after a perfect start to their qualifying campaign so far.

Roy Hodgson’s Euro hopefuls have been impeccable in their opening four qualifiers, securing victory on all occasions, while striking 11 goals and conceding only once. The hosts are 5/2 to net four or more goals against Lithuania, having struck three past Slovenia last time out.

The visitors are currently ranked 92nd in the FIFA world rankings, and level on points with second and third-placed Slovenia and Switzerland respectively, but hold a far inferior goal difference. Lithuania suffered a 4-0 thrashing to the Swiss in their previous qualifier, and are available at 22/1 to cause a massive upset at Wembley.

Hodgson has had to deal with several injuries to his initially selected squad, with Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana the two high-profile casualties in recent weeks. In the absence of Sturridge, and in front of a sell-out Wembley crowd, Spurs starlet Harry Kane is set to make his eagerly-anticipated international debut.

The Tottenham marksman has rampantly risen to prominence this season with his dazzling displays in the Premier League, having incredibly fired his way to joint-top of the scoring charts with 19 goals.

Kane is available at 10/3 to score the last goal on his debut, after bagging five strikes in his last three Premier League outings, including a sublime hat-trick against relegation strugglers Leicester City in his previous outing.

Skipper Wayne Rooney is hunting down his country’s all-time goalscoring record, and this is a fixture which he will relish, as he looks to transfer his recent rampant form at Manchester United on to the international stage once again. The clinical captain is 4/1 to open proceedings at Wembley, having struck five times in his last seven club appearances.

Lithuania striker Deivydas Matulevicius could be a threat to England in an otherwise futile attack, with the fiery forward having struck for his side in their 2-0 victory over San Marino earlier in qualifying. The attacker has also provided one assist in his four qualifying outings, and is 6/1 to net anytime.

England could take a massive step towards qualification with a win over their struggling opposition, and are 3/1 for victory and both teams to score.
