Kempton preview: Queen Catrine can bloom in Snowdrop Stakes (14:50)

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Queen Catrine has some useful form to her name, and looks the one to beat in the Listed Snowdrop fillies’ Stakes at Kempton today (14:50).

Trained by Charlie Hills, this four-year-old was a very smart juvenile, winning once and finishing a fine third in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Longachamp.

The daughter of Acclamation looked sure to win plenty of races judged on that run and, although she failed to get her head in front last season, Queen Catrine posted several solid efforts.

They included a solid fith of 15 to Sandive in the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket and a cracking second of 24 in Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot.

Queen Catrime looked an unlucky loser in the latter, coming from well off the pace and enduring a troubled passage before flying home to be beaten just a short-head by Muteela.

That run reads very well in the context of this contest and, off an official mark of 104, Queen Catrine is the highest rated in the line-up.

The fact that this is the first run of the season for her should also not be a problem given how well Queen Catrine ran first time out last season in the Nell Gwyn and, with Andrea Atzeni in the saddle, she looks to hold outstanding claims of bagging a deserved success.

Lady Dutch has the benefit of a run under her belt, and may well prove the biggest threat to the selection.

This filly had some useful form in Italy, and made a winning debut in this country for trainer Marco Botti when scoring at Kempton.

Lady Dutch travelled well in a steadily run race before keeping on strongly to beat a decent and consistent sort in Baltic Knight by 2 3/4 lengths.

The form has a strong looks to it, as the third home Alfonso De Sousa has since come out and finished second in a Listed contest.

That run entitles the daughter of Dutch Art plenty of respect, especially as she is entitled to come on for the outing.
