Wigan take on Salford in Super League looking to build on Saints win

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Wigan Warriors make the short trip to Salford following an almost super-human victory over fierce rivals St Helens on Good Friday and are odds-on 4/9 favourites with Coral to push on and make it two wins from two this Easter weekend.

A 12-4 winning scoreline against the Saints reflects just how much effort went into the performance, by both sides, and there will have been some sore bodies in the Cherry and Whites ranks, though winger Dom Manfredi, who scored the opening try in the game, is being rested, but spoke after his performance earned him a new deal.

“To hear [Shaun] Wane praise me and say the things he has said is great,” Manfredi said. “I will take any compliment off a coach that I respect as much as him.

“I have enjoyed my seven years at Wigan and it is an honour to wear the famous Cherry and White shirt,” he continued.

“I plan to keep working hard now, taking any opportunities that I get and giving Shaun something to think about.”

The Cherry and Whites, though, will bring in full back Matty Bowen, 5/4 in the anytime market, as well as James Greenwood, who is 5/1 in the same market. Larne Patrick, who signed in the close season, could have more involvement, after featuring last time out and is 11/4 to put four points on the board in the 80 minutes.

Salford, meanwhile, have also been impressive of late, and put in a superb performance to beat Huddersfield Giants 18-12 on Good Friday. They lie fourth in the Super League table, on the same points as the Warriors (nine), who sit third with a better goal difference.

Ben Jones-Bishop who scored in the match, and leads the club’s scorer charts on six tries is odds-on at 8/11 to put the first four points on the board, while Josh Griffin, one behind on five, is evens in the same market, having crossed for the initial against the Giants, as well as kicking all three conversions.
