Punters backing the race to number 10 to go down the wire
Bookmaker Coral has cut the odds on there being a hung parliament following next month’s general election to 1-8 (from 1-6), while the odds on Ed Miliband becoming the next Prime Minister have shortened to evens (from 5-4), although David Cameron remains favourite, at 4-5, to remain in number 10 post-election.
“Political punters are now willing to back a hung parliament at extremely short odds, while in racing terms, the race to number 10 looks increasingly likely to go down to a photo-finish,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
