Table-toppers Cherries travel to Brighton for promotion push

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

There are just five matchweeks to go in the Championship, and Bournemouth so far are leading the closely-contested race for promotion and to finish first, as they are top by a point. However, they know that any slip-up will result in the teams around them pouncing on them.

The Cherries come into their next clash on the back going eight games undefeated, and have not lost to Brighton and Hove Albion in their last five meetings, which is why they are odds-on 10/11 favourites with Coral to win on the road.

Bournemouth recently beat Birmingham in a 4-2 thriller at home and, following the match, boss Eddie Howe said: “We are pleased with where we are.

“It’s five games to go and we want to win all five. I know it’s a cliche but we do need to take the next game as the most important one and we’ll look forward to it.”

Howe’s top scorer this term, Callum Wilson, netted his 20th goal in all competitions against Birmingham, and is a terrific 11/8 chance to strike again anytime. Wilson is also 4/1 to be on target first and the same price to bag a brace or better.

Yann Kermorgant has also been great in front of goal this term, and he got the winner against the Seagulls in the reverse fixture. Kermorgant, who has been capped once for French territory national team Brittany, is 9/5 in the anytime market, and 7/1 to score last.

Bournemouth’s newest acquisition Kenwyne Jones, signed signed from Cardiff City last month, meanwhile, is 13/8 to get his second goal for the club.

For Chris Hughton’s Brighton, although his side virtually have nothing to play for anymore this season, as they sit nine points above the drop zone, but are 3/1 chances for a victory, following two defeats.

Strikers Leon Best and Craig Mackail-Smith represent the Seagulls’ top chances to score, and they can both be backed at 14/5 respectively to net anytime.
