A look at some fact and figures surrounding the 11 runners that go to post for today’s Investec Oaks at Epsom (16.30).

Will be aiming to keep it in the family as half-sister Was won the 2012 Investec Oaks and uncle New Approach won the 2008 Investec Derby. Looking to recoup some of the 5,000,000 guineas that owner Joaan Al Thani paid for her at Tattersalls in 2013 – a world record price for a yearling filly.

Bellajeu
Could give trainer Ralph Beckett his third winner of the Investec Oaks following Talent in 2013 and Look Here in 2008.

Crystal Zvezda
Her owner, Evelyn de Rothschild, will be looking to be the first member of his illustrious family to win the Investec Oaks since Baron Meyer de Rothschild landed the race with Hannah in 1871.

From a family that has done remarkably well in the Investec Oaks in recent times. Grand-dam Jude threw 2003 runner-up Yesterday, as well as All My Loving, who finished third in 2007. Jude also produced Diamondsandrubies’ dam Quarter Moon, who herself finished second behind Kazzia in 2002, and Betterbetterbetter, who was eighth in 2012.

Is named after owner Gerard Byrne’s grandson Jack, who passed away in 2013 and also Holby City character ‘Jac Naylor’ played by Rosie Marcell.

Jazzi Top
Her half-sister, Izzi Top, was third in the 2011 Investec Oaks for trainer John Gosden, who is aiming to become the first trainer to saddle back-to-back winners of the race since Henry Cecil trained Ramruna (1999) and Love Divine (2000) to win the fillies’ Classic.

Lady Of Dubai
Will be aiming to give her trainer, Luca Cumani, a unique double in the race, as his Fittocks Stud also bred the horse.

Is drawn in stall one, which has been the bogey draw in recent years. No filly has won the Investec Oaks from this box since Salsabil landed the race back in 1990.

Qualify
The outsider of the field, Qualify will be the biggest priced winner of the Investec Oaks since Jet Ski Lady scored at 50/1 in 1991 should she win this year’s running.

Could become the seventh filly since 1960 to follow up success at York in the Musidora Stakes with victory in the Investec Oaks. Sariska (2009), Reams Of Verse (1997), Snow Bride (1989), Diminuendo (1988), Bireme (1980) and Noblesse (1963) all won on the Knavesmire prior to winning at Epsom.

Together Forever
Will be aiming to give jockey Joseph O’Brien his first success in the Investec Oaks. O’Brien is already a two-time winner of the Investec Derby (Australia in 2014 and Camelot in 2012).
