Haydock preview: Double chance for jockey Ryan Moore

| 02.07.2015
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Jockey Ryan Moore looks to have major claims of landing a double on today’s seven-race card at Haydock courtesy of Dannyday and Kizingo.

Dannyday runs in the am 6f handicap (16.20) and looked a stayer to keep onside when scoring impressively last time out over course and distance.

The Sir Michael Stoute trained colt came with a steady run from of the pace under a confident ride from Moore to hit the front at the furlong marker and surge clear to beat Cosmic Statesman by 3 1/4 lengths.

Dannyday was value for more than the winning margin, and the fourth home Rosenbaum has since come out and bolted up by four lengths.

It makes a 6lb rise in the weights look on the lenient side for Dannyday, especially as the son of Dansili remains unexposed as a stayer and open to bags mnore improvement.

This also doesn’t look the strongest of class 3 contests, and Dannyday has the potential to be far better than his current rating of 82.

Kizingo runs in the 1m contest closes proceedings (17.20) and looks to have got in lightly on handicap debut.

The Charlie Hills trained filly has had just three starts, and put in her best effort yet on seasonal reappearance when an eye-catching fourth of seven to Hathal over 7f at Lingfield.

Kizingo travelled well on the heels of the leaders, but didn’t have the necessary pace to mount a serious challenge and kept on under tender handling to be beaten six lengths.

The winner has since run well in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, and the third home Calima Breeze scored in good style at Thirsk yesterday to give the form a solid look.

Kizingo also finished just 3 3/4 lengths behind the runner-up Druids Ride who is rated 85, and that makes her opening handicap mark of 72 look very exploitable.

The step up to 1m is also sure to suit, and this looks a nice opportunity for Kizingo to open her account.
