Championship: Leeds host Sheffield Wednesday in Yorkshire derby

| 22.08.2015

Leeds United are unbeaten in the Championship this season under new coach Uwe Rosler, though will be disappointed to have surrendered a 2-0 lead on the road to Bristol City last time out.

They are 8/5 with Coral to beat fierce Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday in front of what is likely to be a sell-out crowd. Leeds took four points against the Owls last season, with the match at Elland Road finishing in a 1-1 draw as centre back Giuseppe Bellusci fired in a half-volley to nick an equaliser.

Striker Mirco Antenucci has had a promising start to the campaign scoring two in three Championship matches, including last time out and the forward is well priced at 7/4 to do so again in the anytime market.

New signing Chris Wood opened his account for the club at Ashtongate and is 6/1 to capitalise on this and break the deadlock.

Rosler was outspoken following the full time whistle in Bristol after accusing the referee of adding too much injury time, though is still proud of his players have coped with a hectic fixture schedule: “Everybody in the stadium got excited when they got their first goal and that included the referee. He got very excited,” revealed Rosler.

“The crowd couldn’t believe it when they saw six minutes. They thought it was carnival time, another boost. A third away game in six games, my boys did terrific. I’m disappointed that we didn’t see it out but it was an honest, whole-hearted performance. Nothing should take anything away from that performance. I’m very happy and very proud.”

Wednesday, unlike Leeds, have suffered a defeat this season in the league, which was also on their travels against Ipswich, despite Ross Wallace netting the opener. The winger is 4/1 to net anytime, while attacker Atdhe Nuhiu who was relatively prolific last season is yet to open his account and is available at 8/1 to open the scoring.
