CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Godolphin have an excellent record in the May Hill Stakes and Pure Diamond can can provide them with another winner in this year’s renewal of the Group 2 contest (15.40).

The Boys in Blue have seen their colours carried to victory in four of the last five renewals, and in Pure Diamond have a filly that could be something special.

After shaping with plenty of promise when a not knocked about seventh on debut, the Saeed bin Suroor trained juvenile put in a stunning display when romping to a wide margin success at Kempton last time out.

Pure Diamond travelled strongly on the heels of the leaders, and after being produced to take up the running at the furlong marker quickened clear to slam Kasseopia by six lengths.

The rest of the field were strung out like washing, and the runner-up has since come out and scored by nine lengths.

It gives the form a strong look, and the turn of foot shown by Pure Diamond to instantly put the race to bed suggested she had a massive engine and needed keeping firmly onside.

This does represent a big step up in class, but the yard are in red-hot form and Pure Diamond can prove up to the task and land the spoils before going on to even better things.

Irish raider Turret Rocks has some solid form in the book and can give Pure Diamond most to think about.
The Jim Bolger trained filly looked a smart prospect when landing a 1m maiden at Gowran on debut, and has since run well to finish in the frame in two Group contests.

In the last of those over 7f at the Curragh, Turret Rocks kept on well to be beaten three lengths by Ballydoyle in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock stuck to the task well after getting tapped for toe when the pace quickened, and the step up back up to 1m looks sure to suit.

Coral’s top tip: Pure Diamond looks another gem for Godolphin and a decent punt to enhance their excellent record in the race
