Kempton preview: Yeeoow to cash-in on class drop

| 06.10.2015
CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Yeeoow looks decent value to take advantage of a drop in class to land division one of the 6f handicap on this evening’s card at Kempton (20.10).

The Karl Burke trained gelding ended a long losing run when landing a class 4 contest at Pontefract back in May off a mark of 84.

Yeeoow overcame trouble in-running to get up close home and score with more in hand than the neck winning margin suggests.

The six-year-old got put up 3lb for that success, and has failed to trouble the judged in three subsequent outings.

However, the last two of those have been in hot class 2 contests and Yeeoow now drops back into class 4 company off a reduced rating of 85.

That is just 1lb higher than when last successful in the grade and gives the son of Holy Roman Emperor every chance from a handicapping perspective, especially on the form he showed last season.

Yeeoow ran a cracker to finish runner-up to subsequent dual Group 1 winner Goldream in a 21-runner class 2 handicap at Newmarket off 90, and also ran very well to be third at Doncaster off 93.

That form reads extremely well in the context of this contest, and other pluses are that Yeeoow is a dual course and distance winner who has bagged a good draw in stall five.

In division two (20.40), Gabbiano can cash-in on his falling mark to register an overdue success.

The Jeremy Gask trained gelding enjoyed a terrific 2013 when winning three times, with the last of those success coming off a mark of 85 at Ascot.

Gabbiano went on to finish an solid fourth of 16 at the same venue off a rating of 89, and is now able to race off just 76.

That is 9lb lower than when last successful, and Gabbiano’s lowest rating in two years.

It gives the son of Zafeen, who has twice been successful over course and distance, a massive shout at the weights on the pick of his form.
