Gunners gearing up for Toffees goal glut
Arsenal are currently well-primed for an assault on the Premier League and, against an Everton side who shipped three at home against Manchester United last time out, they can further add to their misery at the Emirates.
Heavily odds-on with Coral at 4/11 for the win, better value might be for them to score five or more goals and their 10/1 price for them to do this is great value.
Last time out, Arsene Wenger’s side exceeded all expectations against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, recording what seemed an unlikely 2-0 win, prior to kick-off. Consecutive 3-0 victories over Manchester United and Watford before this show that Arsenal could well be preparing to run riot over some unlucky side.
Alexis Sanchez who has dispatched six since his return, including a hat-trick against Leicester has the guile to expose what has been a leaky defence and is well worth backing at 16/1 to add another three to his tally against Roberto Martinez’ men.
Ozil can rack up assists against leaky defence
One of the keys to Arsenal’s impressive attacking play in recent matches has been the fantastic form of their irrepressible German playmaker Mesut Ozil, who has the ability to really torment the Toffees.
While he scored against United last time out at home in the league, as well as against Bayern Munich, it is his six Premier League assists that are perhaps the most impressive this term.
With Sanchez and Theo Walcott ahead of him, he has moving targets, that not only can pull Everton’s defence in every single direction, but also anticipate the German’s through balls. At 2/1 in the anytime market, he could be worth a punt, though Walcott to bag a brace or more at 7/2 may be better value as an alternative option.
Naismith or Lukaku for the Toffees?
While Everton haven’t won their last two Premier League matches, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has been in good form recently. He followed up his brace against West Bromwich Albion with a goal at home to Liverpool and could be worth a bet at 2/1 in the anytime market.
Likewise with his partner in crime Steven Naismith, who actually has a respectable record against Arsenal, having struck two in his last three appearances against Wenger’s side.
Nifty Naismith is 7/2 to strike in the same market and if deployed just behind Lukaku in between Arsenal’s lines he has the ability to cause problems just as he did against Chelsea when he hit a hat-trick.
Wenger is likely to be aware of this, though with Arsenal high on confidence the Gunners could well have the lion’s share of the possession. Also, Martinez is likelier to go with Ross Barkley in this number 10 role, following an impressive campaign so far, with the England international 5/1 to net in the anytime market.
