Coral opens up betting on New Year football specials

| 30.12.2015

Leading bookmaker Coral has compiled a number of football specials in which they have opened up betting on ahead of 2016. One of the most popular specials which punters have been backing with the firm already is the 2-1 on offer for Mesut Ozil to be named the PFA Player of the Season for the 2015/16 campaign following his run of assists for Arsenal.

With Ryan Giggs linked to a number of managerial positions and Gary Neville taking up the hot seat at Valencia in Spain, Coral go 7-4 that one of the Class of 92 is appointed as a permanent manager in the Premier League in 2016.

In what is set to be a big year of sport, one of the highlights of the summer will be Euro 2016 where England are 12-1 to be knocked out of the competition on penalties once again. England boss Roy Hodgson is odds-on at 8-13 not to be in charge of the national team on December 31st, 2016 and 6-5 to remain in his position.

“We compile a number of football specials every year because they always prove popular as punters try to predict what they think will happen in the New Year,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“The odds suggest Roy Hodgson’s reign as England manager will come to an end in 2016, Mesut Ozil has been well backed to pick up the PFA Player of the Season award and we expect the 12/1 on offer for England to exit Euro 2016 on penalties to be popular given their record in major tournaments,” added Hill.
