Tom Hardy evens to be the next James Bond

Leading bookmaker Coral make English actor Tom Hardy the evens favourite to be the next James Bond after the news that Daniel Craig is set to quit his role as 007. Damien Lewis is second best in the betting at 4-1 with the firm, while Idris Elba, who would be the first black actor to feature as Bond, is available at 5-1.

“With Daniel Craig reportedly set to step down as 007, we’ve taken a flurry of bets on who will play the next James Bond. The majority of those have been for Tom Hardy, although interestingly, Idris Elba, who would be the first black actor to play the role, has not been short of interest in the betting,” said Coral’s John Hill.
