Bet of the day: 4/1 wincast on Lafferty goal and Northern Ireland beating Slovenia
Jamie Clark, Sports Editor | March 28, 2016
Coral’s bet of the day
- Lafferty scored seven in Euro 2016 qualifying
- Slovenia struggled in England’s group and were beaten in play-offs
- Northern Ireland last lost at home in September 2013
Lafferty can be lucky for punters
Coral’s bet of the day for Easter Monday is an enhanced 4/1 wincast involving Kyle Laffety scoring in a Northern Ireland home win over Slovenia.
You can stake up to €/£20 on this boosted price bet, meaning there is a potential maximum return of €/£100 riding on it.
Here’s why Lafferty, so lethal for his country, can deliver and round the Bank Holiday weekend off with a winning wager for you…
Seventh heaven on road to Euros
Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland have done incredibly well to reach the Euro 2016 finals in France this summer, and their presence across the Channel is in no small part thanks to Lafferty.
He scored seven international goals in qualifying, including a winning goal against fellow tournament finalists Hungary.
Lafferty, who has joined Championship play-off hopefuls Birmingham City on loan to get regular football before the Euros, has recorded five of his last eight strikes for his country at Windsor Park.
Couple that with the fact Northern Ireland last lost on home soil way back in September 2013, and Lafferty looks well worth a wager here.
Slovene struggles to continue
Opposition Slovenia, meanwhile, failed to win half of their Euro 2016 qualifying games in a group that contained England, and lost to Ukraine in the play-offs.
They averaged conceding more than a goal per game and, while that is worrying for Slovenians, this will have Lafferty licking his lips.
A number of recent international retirements, including Inter Milan goalie Samir Handanovic and defensive duo Branko Ilic and Miso Brecko, have left Slovenia weakened at the back, and that too adds weight to this bet.
Take that fantastic 4/1 enhanced wincast on Lafferty scoring in a Northern Ireland win, then, and you could turn €/£20 into €/£100.
