McCarthy attracts gamble for Aston Villa job

Mick McCarthy has been cut into 4-1 (from 12-1) to be the next permanent Aston Villa manager by bookmaker Coral following sustained support for the current Ipswich boss this morning. Former Leicester manager Nigel Pearson remains the favourite at 11-10, while David Moyes and Steve Bruce are both available at 9-2.

Meanwhile, Coral has installed New York Red Bulls as the 3-1 favourites to be John Terry’s next club, with any Chinese club in the betting at 6-1.
