Argentina to edge hosting Americans

Copa America Centenario hosts USA and Argentina have drawn their last two meetings, so another share of the spoils in normal time is a tasty price at 3/1 with Coral.

However, with Argentina in the goalscoring form they’re in, having netted 12 in their last three fixtures this tournament, they are the 1/2 odds-on match favourites in 90 minutes. While, they are also 2/1 to strike three or more again.

Lionel Messi has smashed in four of those, and is now equal with all-time Argentine top scorer Gabriel Batistuta on 54, after netting in the 4-1 win over Venezuela in the quarter-finals.

The Barcelona superstar, who has also hit a hat-trick this Copa America over Panama, is 8/11 to net anytime once more and 3/1 for two or more.

So many options up front for Argentines

Gonzalo Higuain and Tottenham’s Erik Lamela have also bagged a pair of goals apiece in the USA, so are 10/11 and 7/4 respectively in the anytime market.

If you fancy Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Ezequiel Lavezzi to double their tallies or more these finals, then they are temptingly priced too.

For USA, who are 6/1 to win this match in normal time, former Fulham and Spurs attacker Clint Dempsey has come up with three goals himself. He is 2/1 in the anytime market, and 7/1 to strike last.

Costa Rica US Soccer

The Stars and Stripes, though, have had to really battle their way to this stage, with only one of their wins being achieved by more than a goal. Their campaign couldn’t have got off to a worse start either after losing to Costa Rica 2-0, but they somehow find themselves here.

This encounter has the potential to go the distance, but Argentina can scrape through eventually in extra-time.

Chile in hot scoring form

Argentina’s scoring form may be impressive by netting 12 in their past three, but defending champions Chile (7/5 match favourites) have gone one better after managing to smash a supposedly confident Mexico 7-0 in the quarters.

Former QPR loanee Eduardo Vargas’ four strikes in that remarkable clash have seen him jump right to the top of the leaderboard this tournament on six, two ahead of Messi. He is 5/4 to be on target again and 7/1 for two or more.

However, while La Roja lead their upcoming opponents Colombia (11/5 match shouts) 14-10 in meetings, they have not won in their last three and just two of their previous 12.

The last two head-to-heads were draws in World Cup qualifiers, so a share of the spoils in 90 minutes is priced at 2/1.

Vidal and Rodriguez hoping strike again

Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal was on target for Chile in both of those duels, and has two goals already this tournament, however will miss the occasion due to suspension.

But Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez, on three for the 2016 Copa America, is available and bagged a brace against the Coffee Growers in 2013, so is 7/1 to do so once more.

For Colombia, James Rodriguez has enjoyed scoring against Chile in the past, and is currently the only one from his nation to get more than one goal these finals (with two). The Real Madrid star is, therefore, 5/4 in the anytime market.

James will be hoping the likes of Carlos Bacca (also 5/4) and Juan Cuadrado (7/2) can help share the burden too.

Chile are the favourites to reach the final, and should be able to do so in normal time. But, back them at an enticing 11/2 to score three or more goals.

Coral’s top tip: Eduardo Vargas is an enticing 5/4 to score anytime against Colombia.
