Bookies gain England revenge but Wales are slashed for Euro glory

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

England’s goalless draw against Slovakia tonight gave bookmakers a measure of revenge following the £10 million hammering they took when Roy Hodgson’s men beat Wales last week, while the draw also means England finish second in Group B, and as a result their odds on going all the way in France have been eased to 9-1, from 7-1.

“With up to £20 million bet on the match against Slovakia, and most of it on an England win, we were braced for another late knockout blow, but a 0-0 draw is about as good as it gets for us, although patriotic punters will have at least one more chance to make us pay next Monday, but England’s hopes of glory have become just that bit harder it seems,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“By contrast, group winners Wales have been slashed to 33-1 (from 70-1) for outright glory, so it’s not all bad news for UK punters,” added Stevens.
