More outsiders backed as Investec Derby remains wide open

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

The recent Goodwood winner Algometer, 16-1 (from 20-1), and the Aidan O’Brien-trained Idaho, 12-1 (from 16-1), have been the best backed Investec Derby contenders with Coral today.  Wings Of Desire is the 9-2 (from 4-1) favourite for the race, ahead of US Army Ranger at 5-1 (from 9-2).

“With the Classic trials failing to deliver a clear-cut Derby favourite, punters have been willing to back a selection of bigger priced contenders in recent days, with those runners wanting ease in the ground attracting the most support.  By contrast the market leaders have been largely ignored, and the first four in the betting are all on the drift,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
