Odds cut on World Cup being stripped from Russia

CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Leading bookmaker Coral has cut the odds on the 2018 FIFA World Cup being stripped from Russia into 5-2 (from 6-1) following claims in a report the country operated a state-sponsored doping programme at the Winter Olympics in 2014.

With pressure now on FIFA to take the 2018 World Cup away from Russia, Coral go 10-1 that England will be replaced as the new hosts of the tournament.

“We’ve seen a flurry of bets for Russia being stripped of the World Cup in 2018 following this latest report which will surely put pressure on FIFA to rethink their decision about who will host the tournament,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Although it may be wishful thinking, some punters are backing England to step in as the new hosts where they would stage the tournament 52 years after their success in 1966,” added Hill.

**Will Russia host the 2018 World Cup?

2-7 Yes, 5-2 No

**England to host the 2018 World Cup

10-1
