Bangladesh v England 3rd ODI tips
The One Day International series between Bangladesh and England goes down to the wire, with tourists’ tempers fraying after a failed run chase in Mirpur.
Jos Buttler and co have little time to brood, however, as the deciding game will soon be upon us. That means there’s money to be made!
What look like the best bets on offer for this Chittagong clash? Coral cricket experts got their heads together and came up with five Bangladesh v England 3rd ODI tips. Who features? Read on below to find out…
Jos Buttler to be best England batsman
Without Joe Root, there is a worrying lack of consistency about England’s top order, and Trevor Bayliss’ options are limited in this regard.
Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes both got out cheaply in Mirpur so, while both will be keen to avoid a repeat, it’s worth backing captain Buttler to lead by example. When dismissed lbw in Mirpur, Bangladeshi celebrations clearly got under his skin.
That can act as fuel to make Buttler best England batsman again at a nifty 9/2. His average is 60 from the first two ODIs, and nobody else can boast such consistency on this Tour.
Mashrafe Mortaza odds to be best Bangladesh bowler
Speaking of leading by example, home captain and all-rounder Mortaza comes into the deciding One Day International with best bowling figures (2-52 and 4-29) in the other encounters.
Mortaza rattled through England’s top order in Mirpur, taking key wickets off opening duo Jason Roy and James Vince. He later added Ben Stokes for a duck to his list of victims.
Who would bet against him to be best Bangladeshi bowler again? Mortaza is also a very tempting 4/1 price indeed.
Coral’s top tip: Mashrafe Mortaza odds at a magnificent 4/1 say he will be top Bangladesh bowler once more.
Bangladesh to score the most fours
If you read our second One Day International piece, then you’ll know we tipped this bet before. It came off in Mirpur and Dhaka, so there is every reason to back this bet again.
Bangladesh are simply getting more boundaries than England, with a superior number of fours in both ODIs to date (29-25 and 20-17). Side with the hosts to record the most once more at 23/20.
Mahmudullah to be best Bangladesh batsman
All-rounder Mahmudullah is averaging 50 during this One Day series, and other Bangladesh batsmen just lack consistent scores.
That makes the 30-year-old worth a punt at 5/1 to be top dog at the crease. Mahmudullah’s 75 proved to best anything anyone in Bangladeshi ranks could muster.
Jake Ball to be best England bowler
Although it’d be a huge surprise for the tourists to remain unchanged, one player that looks to have cemented his ODI place is Nottinghamshire paceman Ball.
Taking seven wickets across the two One Day games in Bangladesh so far, he also offered resistance when contributing 28 to a 45-run last wicket stand with Adil Rashid.
Although England’s run chase fell short, it’s the bowling of Ball we’re concerned with here. Back him, as his name suggests, to be best with the ball at 7/2.
