Twitter reacts to weekend of sport

It was another enthralling weekend of sport, with plenty of drama occurring from the boxing, football action in the Premier League and rugby union history was made in the clash between Ireland and New Zealand.

The pick of the top-flight fixtures took place at the Emirates, as Arsenal and Tottenham collided in the season’s first north London derby, while Manny Pacquiao returned to the ring and Ireland secured a monumental feat in America.

So read on to see the best of the online reaction on Twitter over the course of the weekend…

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham

There was big pre-match news ahead of the north London derby tussle as Harry Kane returned to the Spurs side but Dele Alli was ruled out…

In what was an uneventful first-half, Kevin Wimmer opened the scoring for Arsenal with an own-goal…

It was the returning Kane that ultimately got Tottenham back in the game and secured a derby day point from the penalty spot…

An interesting stat from a dreary 1-1 result in the capital…

Ireland incredibly overcome All Blacks

Ireland secured a historic feat in Chicago as they earned their first win over New Zealand in 111 years, with a late Robbie Henshaw try cementing a 40-29 victory.

This was the moment that the Irish clinched an amazing win at Soldier Field…

There was one New Zealander that was happy…

Don’t worry Ireland, it wasn’t a dream…

There were sure to be a few sore heads on Sunday…

Truly a record-breaking weekend…

Mayweather watches as Pacquiao earns return win

After a very short-lived retirement from boxing, legendary eight-division world champion Pacquiao returned to the ring in Las Vegas to clinch the WBO welterweight crown from Vargas, via a unanimous decision.

The Filipino fighter also made some history…

The focus will now be on who is next for ‘Pacman’, with Kell Brook having outlined intentions of a bout…

Although, Floyd Mayweather was in attendance. Could the pair meet again for a rematch?
