Rumour Reel: Rakitic to Man Utd, while Reds to try for Teodorczyk and City eye Dolberg deal?
Coral’s Rumour Reel
Jose Mourinho appears to be preparing an audacious swoop in the coming winter window, with Ivan Rakitic to Manchester United linked on today’s back pages.
The Croatian creator has been out of favour at Barcelona in recent weeks and Red Devils are reportedly ready to pounce.
Rakitic to Man Utd?
Reports coming out of Spain claim that Mourinho is keen to add Rakitic in January, as the player reportedly grows restless at the lack of starting opportunities.
After joining Barca in 2014 from Sevilla, the player has gone on to develop into one of the league’s leading midfielders, and lifted both the Champions League and La Liga title in his first year at the Nou Camp.
It is thought Rakitic could be the long term replacement for 35-year-old Michael Carrick in the heart of United’s midfield, as Mourinho admires the Croatia international’s composure and supreme close control – reports suggest.
A bid of around £35m is rumoured to be the Catalan club’s asking price and, with United desperate to return to former glories, could easily splash out next month.
Reds to try for Teodorczyk?
Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Poland striker Lukasz Teodorczyk from Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kiev.
Reports claim the prolific 25-year-old, who is currently on loan at Belgian club Anderlecht, is attracting Premier League interest after a sensational start to the season – netting 20 in 24 outings in all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are said to be front runners, while West Ham United are also eyeing a forward to solve their forward woes.
However, Anderlecht reportedly have the option to make their loan move permanent for just £4.5m.
City eye Dolberg deal?
Eight goals in 13 games could see Europe’s elite swoop for Ajax teenager Kasper Dolberg. The Denmark international has reportedly caught the eye of Pep Guardiola and is now ready to rival Napoli and Juventus for Dolberg’s signature.
City scout Sebastian Arnesen recently revealed: “We are keeping a very close eye on him, and when the time is right we’ll make a decision on whether we should act. He is so special, and therefore he is of course also on the radar.”
