Real Madrid win Champions League: Twitter reacts
Fans took to Twitter to have their say
Real Madrid became the first side in Champions League history to retain the title, beating Italian giants Juventus 4-1 in the final at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo was, once again, simply stunning, scoring two goals to down The Old Lady and ease their way to a record 12th title. In was yet another example of just how dominant the Spanish top-flight has been on this stage in recent years, with a La Liga representative winning each of the last four renewals. Six of the eight teams involved in the last four finals have also been Spanish.
It was a night for the football purists, as the continent’s biggest sides clashed. As always, Twitter had its say, with the build-up and aftermath contributing to fans’ enjoyment of the night.
