CORAL ENHANCED ACCAS

Filly has now won five from six

Enable delivered for favourite backers, winning the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. With Frankie Dettori on board, the three-year-old filly was a popular choice on the day, and ran out a comfortable winner, beating Ulysses by 4 ½ lengths.

Elsewhere, and Man City stretched their legs for the upcoming season with an eye-catching 3-0 win over Premier League rivals Tottenham at the International Champions Cup. Manager Pep Guardiola told fans he feels his side are better than last term. Here’s our round-up of the results in pictures…..

Fight fans were looking forward to Carl Frampton’s return, but they’re now left waiting a little longer, the fight postponed in the strangest of circumstances. Frampton failed to make weight, then opponent Andres Gutierrez went back to his hotel, slipped in the shower and lost a few teeth – apparently.

Enable sat at the head of the ante-post market for Saturday’s showpiece at Ascot, and that proved to be a shrewd call. John Gosden’s talented filly enhanced her CV to five wins from six starts, including victory in each of her last four.

Sebastian Vettel stretched his lead at the top of the F1 driver’s championship with victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Main rival Lewis Hamilton suffered a nightmare weekend, and now trails the German by 14 points. Valtteri Bottas ended third at Hungary, and is also third in the leaderboard.

Man City spanked Tottenham 3-0 in a friendly on Saturday, thanks to goals from John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Brahim Diaz. City dominated throughout, whetting the appetite of fans for the Premier League season that gets started in less than a fortnight.

Phil Taylor upset the odds to win his 16th World Matchplay title at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Sunday. The record-breaking world champion is due to retire at the end of 2017, but showed that old hunger to hammer Peter Wright 18-8.
