Bet of the Day: Man City to strike early against Basel in UCL
Visitors love an early goal
Manchester City will resume their Champions League campaign this evening with a trip to Swiss champions FC Basel.
The Citizens have won five of their six games in the competition so far, scoring 14 goals in the process.
Their impressive form is typified by their ability to be quick out of the blocks. Pep Guardiola’s men have struck four goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches in the UCL so far this season.
They took the lead after three minutes against Leicester City at the weekend and should look to dominate the play early on at St. Jakob-Park.
Assist King De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne has been the architect for three of City’s goals in the Champions League this season. He’s in good form in the Premier League, too.
The Belgian provided the killer ball for three of the Citizens’ five goals at home to Leicester on Saturday.
Otamendi on target?
City’s centre-halves love scoring away from home in the UCL. John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have netted four of City’s nine goals away from the Etihad Stadium in the competition.
Otamendi, in particular, is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal this season. The Argentine has netted five times in all competitions. He’s priced favourably to take his tally to six this evening.
